BRL-CAD is a powerful cross-platform solid modeling system. Supporting BREP/NURBS, polygonal mesh, point clouds, volumetric data, implicit CSG, and more, BRL-CAD specializes in high-performance solid ray tracing of very complex models for analytic purposes.
Among many efforts, current priorities include UI/UX, PBR, conversion, V&V, and GPU+CPU optimization. New contributors are always welcome to help affect development directions.
BRL-CAD is developed by a collective of open source contributors all around the world. BRL-CAD's development is also continuously fiscally sponsored by the U.S. Government. BRL-CAD has been in continuous development since 1979 and was converted to an open source project in 2004.
